An accounting revolution to account for a new contract with nature?

This is what Alexandre Rambaud, Harold Levrel and Clément Feger, scientific co-heads of the Ecological Accounting Partnership Chair, propose in an article in the newspaper Le Monde, published on 19 July 2020.

According to them, a transition and a demanding ecological recovery imply :
1) changing our accounting systems, at all levels (States, organisations) and creating new forms (at the level of ecosystems)
2) to include the debt to nature, aligned with scientific/collective objectives and conservation costs, so as not to perpetuate our instrumental and deleterious relationship with nature
